Urbanite is Repurposed with Intention
At Studio Petrichor, we see beauty where others see discards. Urbanite—chunks of old concrete, weathered bricks, orphaned stones, and stray cinder blocks—becomes our palette of forgotten treasures. With a bit of vision and a lot of heart, these castoffs are transformed into paths, walls, and playful patterns that anchor the landscape with texture and story.
Urbanite is one of the best ways to reduce costs and the carbon footprint of a project. Keeping materials onsite to be reused reduces the cost of waste removal, labor, and buying new materials.
Each piece is placed with intention, adding a layer of charm and character that can’t be bought new. It’s a quiet rebellion against waste—and a celebration of what’s possible when we design with both care and curiosity. Collaboration and creativity shine when designers and builders build something new from something old.
We work with our clients on-site to understand their aesthetic preferences, what colors, forms, and patterns they might like to see. Do they want something clean and tidy? Or do they want to add a bit of whimsy to their hardscape? Recrafting hardscape with urbanite is also a great way to create cohesive circulation around a property, making the site feel connected through its various parts.
