A clean, green garden for a Spanish-Mediterranean duplex in Hancock Park

LUSH & SENSIBLE

This client requested a straight-forward, simple, and climate-appropriate series of garden spaces. We gave this historic 1925 Spanish-Mediterranean duplex a clean, beautiful, and green garden for their enjoyment and simplified maintenance. We used lush and drought-hardy Kurapia (Lippia nodiflora hybrid) to replace a high-water use lawn in the front yard and framed the space with Mediterranean shrubs. The rear garden has the same lush appeal and includes raised steel planters for growing vegetables. Fragrant herbs such as Rosemary and Lavender complete the design for a multi-sensory experience.
